The National Association for Reproductive and Child Health of India (NARCHI), Delhi organised the 15th World Congress and 28th Annual Conference on 23rd-25th September 2022 at Hotel Lalit , New Delhi

The theme of the conference was ‘’Quality RCH Care- Strengthening Linkages , Bridging Gaps ‘’ This was a three -day spectacular academic bonanza with beautiful amalgamation of scientific sessions in the form of 9- dedicated pre conference workshops, CMEs, Lectures, Orations, Key note lectures ,panel discussions , debates and quiz , poster and slogan competition.

The main aim of this conference was to bring together not only the leading academicians, researchers, practitioners, and students to exchange and share their experiences and research outputs on all aspects of obstetrics and Gynaecology but also to bring forth the grass root workers like ASHA ,ANM &Nurses in accordance with our theme of strengthening linkages and bridging gaps through 3 free workshops on basic obstetric care, essential labour care , basic new born care and awareness towards gynaecological cancers ca cervix and breast This conference was also meant to provide a premier interdisciplinary platform to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns as well as practical challenges encountered and solutions adopted in the field of Reproductive and child health .

NARCHICON 2022 started with a Public Forum on Anaemia Mukt Bharat on 21st September 2022 from 3pm to 6pm organized by Dr Anita Sabharwal in association with Birth right Team at Madhukar Rainbow Children Hospital Malviya Nagar. It was a very colourful and successful event attended by more than 200 nurses, college students, patients, attendants, support staff and doctors.

Workshops held on 22/9/22.

Honing skills for cervical cancer elimination- a hands on workshop on screening, colposcopy and treatment of CIN

Honing skills for cervical cancer elimination- a hands on workshop on screening, colposcopy and treatment of CIN was organized by the department of OBS AND GYNE, VMMC AND SJH under aegis of ISCCP. The content which included the scientific deliberation by the eminent faculty, hands on session on HPV testing, colposcopy, thermocoagulation, cryotherapy, LLETZ procedure, smartscope and interactive session on clinical case scenarios. It was attended by 125 delegates.

Workshop on fetal medicine was organised by Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, LHMC. It was attended by 80 delegates.

The conference was preceded by various workshops catering to Nursing Officers, Asha workers, interns and Gynaecologists and was attended in large numbers. Hands-on workshop held on 23/09/2022, at The Lalit hotel.

Essential Labor Room Care for Nurses and ANMs conducted by Dr Mrinalini Mani along with Dr Sushma Sinha & Mrs Kala. It was attended by nearly 103 participants both from the public and private institutions.

Workshop for Asha- basic obstetrics care, breast & cervical cancer screening. The objective was Sensitisation on Basic obstetric care and Screening of breast and cervical cancer with hands on practical training as well. It was attended by around 121 Asha workers from 11 districts of Delhi.

Workshop on Basic Newborn Care conducted by Dr Sushma Nangia, Department of Neonatology, LHMC. It was attended by 88 delegates. It provided an insight into the components of essential newborn care and sensitizing them regarding the importance of MOM (Mother’s own milk).

Workshop on MATERNALCOLLAPSE was organised by Institute of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on 23rd September. It was attended by 58 delegates.

A hands-on workshop on the intricacies of caesarean section was conducted on 23/9/22. It was organized by the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, MAMC and Dr Nirmala Vaze, Nagpur OBGY Society. It was attended by 79 delegates.

Workshop on Medico legal Issues in OBGYN Practice was organized by the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, UCMS & GTBH Delhi. In detail it was discussed about Ideal patient referral loop, non-technical skills, negligence in emergency obstetrics care, Ethical and legal challenges in Telemedicine. It was attended by 42 delegates.

Main Conference

This report captures the two-day program of presentations , orations and keynote addresses, which took place on 24-25th Sep2022.. The event brought together some 250 plus research scholars, eminent faculty , young budding gynaecologists ,and key officials nationally and internationally who were placed session wise based on themes of the sessions.

NARCHICON Conference had 1033 registrations on both day 1 and 2 combined. Delegates attended the conference with full enthusiasm. There were 84 poster presentations and 159 free paper presentations in categories which included Mother-child health, Preventive oncology, Quality RCH and miscellaneous categories. Among these 5 in posters and 25 in free paper were in senior category

Inaugural ceremony
The first day of the conference started with scientific deliberations and an inaugural ceremony session with a welcome note and conference overview by Dr.Subroto Dawn , Sec general NARCHI Kolkatta, This was followed by the outgoing Presidential Address by Dr KK Roy and the President elect Dr Achala Batra , Dr Manju Puri , President NARCHI Delhi branch presented the events done so far. The inaugural address was by Guest of Honour Dr Vandana Bagga , Director , DFW and Chief Guest Dr Virendra Kumar, Director LHMC . Dr Suneela Garg was the special guest in this occasion. The dignitaries were felicitated . The release of the conference proceedings was carried out by Dr. Pikee saxena and team.

Glimpses of various sessions The two-day conference comprised of ten symposium (including 3 video sessions), 6 orations, 3 keynote lectures by eminent personality in the domain , 6 panel discussion running in two halls .There was quiz for the residents and postgraduates The free paper and poster sessions were also running concurrently in different halls.

There were > 250 abstracts received which were divided into oral and poster The conference was structured to foster a good discussion between the speakers and the delegates.

There were 32 prizes for each category of free paper and posters And 5 appreciation awards The two day Conference ended with a valedictory session.

More than 150 students , residents and faculty were awarded the FICMCH degree
